On Sunday I went for a lovely hike with Bee and Kevin in the Gorge. As we were driving down I84 toward the Eagle Creek trail head, Kevin commented on how lucky we are to live less than an hour's drive from such amazing scenery and I couldn't agree more! The Gorge is gorgeous (hehe) and so green. I love hiking through all the greenery, enjoying all the moss and viewing so many pretty waterfalls whenever I want. One of my favorite things about living in Portland is having the Gorge so close.
Epic Weekend

A couple months ago a few friends and I decided to start a Brunch Book Club. We all love brunch, we all love books, and we all love to talk.... so this was the perfect idea! Every few weeks we get together at a new brunch location and discuss a book from our list. This month was the book "Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes (review coming soon) and brunch at Tasty & Alder. It was great, and the perfect way to kick off my weekend!

I completely agree, it's amazing that Portland is so accessible to so many beautiful and different places in nature, I love it! Also, I've been wanting to read that book for awhile now - looking forward to your review!
ReplyDeleteRead it Jane! It's so good, but I will warn you, you will ugly cry. Everyone I know who has read it has admitted to the ugly cry. So worth it though!
Deletei heart brunch and oregon and hiking and all of this post!
ReplyDeleteYay! Living in Oregon is simply amazeballs. So much goodness all the time.
DeleteI should really learn to smile in pictures instead of making faces :P Great weekend lady and as always, LOVELY pictures.
ReplyDeleteNah, the funny face is always the way to go ;)
DeleteHow did you like Tasty n Alder- it's one of my favorite brunch spots because of their bloody marys! And the hike looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt was great! I didn't have one of the bloody marys, although they looked amazing, because I'm not drinking alcohol right now. But the biscuit was my favorite part... SO YUMMY!
DeleteBeautiful pictures!! You captured early spring in Oregon! Yes, it is so wonderful to live so close to the mountains, and ocean, and high dessert, and rivers... aaah!
ReplyDeleteThank you! These were all taken with the iPhone 5s. I'm amazed at it's capacity to capture great photos! I love this area and its surroundings so much. So blessed to live here!
DeleteOh, I ADORE the Eagle Creek trail! It is one of my favorites in the Gorge. I haven't been able to hike it for a couple of years because I don't think the kids are ready for it but, when they are, we'll be there.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to read "Me Before You," although it is sitting on my Kindle waiting for me....
In the past I've hiked Eagle Creek in the late summer and fall, and while gorgeous, this time of the year has definitely been my favorite! There is so much green everywhere, and so many waterfalls!! You should take your kids, they'll love it!
DeleteUmmm next time you're going to hit one of my favorite restaurants AND one of my favorite hikes you need to invite me. ;)
ReplyDeleteHa! Done. I'm pretty much always down for either brunch or a hike... or both!
DeleteWhat a view. I need to get out hike a bit this spring and summer!
ReplyDeleteIt's so gorgeous out there this time of year! Get out and enjoy :)
DeleteLove your hiking photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kira! I've had my new iPhone for just a couple of weeks and it's ability to capture color just floors me! I love not having to lug my big camera out there!
DeleteGorgeous photos! And I'm jealous of your book club. I need to put one together for myself sometime.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary Ann! Do it! The book club is sooooo much fun!!
