Words to live by Wednesday | [In]Complete Magazine

About 6 months ago I started working an online magazine called [IN]COMPLETE MAGAZINE.  It's something I'd dreamed about doing for quite some time, and during a particular low moment in my life I was looking for something positive to throw myself into.  One thing led to another and the idea for a magazine focused on celebration, positivity and creativity popped into my head.  I couldn't stop thinking about it, and thus [IN]COMPLETE was born.  The site launched at the end of January and it's been a whirlwind ever since.

There's a few collaborations with fellow writers, photographers and bloggers that I've loved, but my favorite so far has been our collaboration with text illustrator Lindsay Hodson with Hey Normal Day. I had this idea to post a weekly quote.  I wanted something short and memorable, and one that I could tie into the stacks of digital images I had sitting on my desktop.  After seeing Lindsay's work at a local artisans market I knew that her style would fit in with my idea perfectly.  She agreed to supplying one handwritten quote a week for a total of 52 for the year.  "Words to Live by Wednesday" is what we've been calling it, and it's become our most popular day on the site by far.

I've given her a list of quotes and stack of images to choose from, but I never know which quote and image will be selected for the week.  Tuesday night has quickly become my favorite.  I get to login to dropbox and download the finished image.  It's fun to prep the post for the next morning and spend a little time meditating on the words and the meaning behind them.

Which one is your favorite?  I think each week the newest one becomes my favorite.  I just love them all.

Driving the Oregon Coast

Over the weekend I took a drive down the Oregon Coast on the 101.  I started in Astoria with the Goonies house and ended with an afternoon on the sand in Cannon Beach.  Any time I feel like I need to rebalance and breathe, the first place I want to go is the ocean.  There's something so calming about the sound of the waves.  It was a great day with overcast skies and foggy layers.  It was comforting for the soul and I loved everything about it.
